Tits and teeth was a project created by Libby Cooper, an 18 year old photographer. She took portraits of young drag queens in her life and then curated it into a photobook, which is now for sale on her website. The aim of the project was to display a variety of different types of drag. Libby Cooper, alongside a lot of the drag artists involved in the magazine, are BRIT school graduates and have attended, performed, and organized The BRIT Schools annual drag show.

How did you get into drag?

I got into drag about 3 years ago when my teachers asked me to perform “Let it go” from Frozen and I thought why not? And the rest is history!

Have you faced any prejudice or challenges?

Not really. My family and friends have all been supportive, it’s definitely harder being a plus size drag queen, I feel like it holds me back sometimes and I think if I was skinnier I’d have lots more followers which is a shame because every body is beautiful, the internet just doesn’t reflect that sometimes.

How did you came up with your name and what look/ character were you trying to achieve etc?

I’ve always been inspired by Black women, they’ve had such a positive influence on my life and when I saw Princess and the Frog for the first time I fell in love with Princess Tiana and knew I had to be named after her. I actually just asked Instagram what my drag name should be and that I loved the name Tiana and someone said Tiana Biscuit and I thought BINGGGOOOOOO!

I’d love to eventually pull off expensive musical theatre looks from all of my favourite shows. I’d love to perform all around the country a huge mega mix of all my fave songs from the musicals! I’d love to be able to achieve a campy but high fashion style.

How did you get into drag?

What got me into drag was having the opportunity to perform in the drag show at The Brit School. I had always loved the art of drag but never thought I could do it myself, but when I did, it was one of the best experiences of my life! Now, two years later, I see Angel Delight as an extension of myself - she represents my feminine side which is why instead of being super comedic I always want there to be a greater meaning to anything Angel does. I want people to leave my shows questioning their own thoughts and opinions, I want people to feel empowered and liberated and I want people to feel loved and accepted. Angel Delight isn’t a Drag Queen she is a piece of art.

Have you faced any prejudice or challenges?

I haven’t personally faced any prejudice or challenges in regards to doing drag or even just wearing makeup day to day. So, instead I always try to use my voice and my performances as a way of empowering and uplifting those who have faced prejudice or challenges.

How did your parents take to your drag?

My Mum is THE most supportive and amazing parent I could have ever wished for - in fact she was the one who chose out all my outfits for my first drag show! She is my biggest supporter and my worst critic which is something I will always cherish. I love her.

How did you came up with your name and what look/ character were you trying to achieve etc?

So I decided on the name “Angel Delight” because when I’m in drag I see myself as this angelic, classy and sexy figure - hence the “Angel”. I then decided on “Delight” as my second name because like the desert I am sweet and creamy... it makes no sense but we are just going to go with it!

When I am Angel I want to portray the embodiment of beauty - I want to look like my own version of a woman. So it’s hard to say what look I’m trying to achieve because it depends on what I am doing - if it’s a performance my outfit, hair, makeup etc is going to depend on what I want the audience to take from the performance. If it’s a photo shoot I will choose something I know photographs well. But regardless of what I am doing Angels beauty and aura will always radiate through!
